Nice to see my name in print again [Free Speech, April 12, 2006]. Two things need to be said.

One, I have a piece of paper that says I am not guilty. How about you, anonymous author?

Two, Eric Maxwell is a very fine man sitting by me in hearing after hearing making my case and not charging a dime. While his courage and character are above reproach, his sense of humor is another thing.

He would ask me, on the way to a hearing, if I had brought my toothbrush as I might, just might, not be going home.

Or when a large fellow wearing a uniform would enter the room during a hearing, he would whisper, “That is the fellow they sent to take you away.”

He might not have charged, but it was not free.
