Forsyth is Eagle ScoutTue, 05/02/2006 - 3:38pm

McIntosh High School senior Michael Forsyth has received the Eagle Rank from the Boy Scouts of America at a Court of Honor at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A member of Troop 279 for seven years, he also was elected to the honorary Boy Scout service organization, Order of the Arrow. Forsyth built a pond and waterfall at J.C. Booth Middle School to complete his Eagle project requirement. As a Scout he participated in high adventure programs including the Northern Tier Canoe Base in Canada, Sea Base in the Florida Keys and the COPE course at Camp Thunder near Molena, Ga. He completed Cub Scouts with Pack 75 at Peachtree City United Methodist Church before joining Troop 279. Born in Milwaukee, Wis., he has resided in Peachtree City for 12 years with his parents, Steve and Bridget Forsyth, and his brother Brian. Forsyth plans to attend Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville, Ga., to study chemistry. He was a member of the McIntosh Science Olympiad team for three years, winning several medals at the Georgia state level. He also was a member of the National Championship Booth Science Olympiad team and medaled at the national event in 2003. login to post comments |
