Henry County law enforcement authorities want to question the husband of Creekside High School special education teacher Natasha Monique Jones as a person of interest in the murder of the 31-year-old earlier this week.

Jones was found dead Monday in her Carlsbad Cove home in Stockbridge after a relative called police and requested that her home be checked, said Henry County Police spokesman Lt. Jason Bolton. Autopsy results showed that Jones had been strangled, Bolton said.

Being sought as a person of interest in the case is Jones’ husband, 34-year-old Changa Ola Jones, who had a warrant for his arrest issued in September on charges of aggravated assault and simple battery involving the Creekside teacher, Bolton said. He had not resided at the residence since the time of the assault, Bolton added.

Henry County police are attempting to locate Jones and the vehicle he is believed to be driving, a white Toyota Avalon with Georgia tag ATQ 3180.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or Jones’ whereabouts is asked to contact Henry County Police at 770-957-9121.
