Fayette Presbyterian Church will have its annual Mission Focus this Sunday, May 7. The community is invited to join church members for food, fellowship and a chance to explore the many missions that Fayette Presbyterian Church supports.

Featured speakers at the 8:30 a.m. contemporary worship service and 11 a.m. traditional worship service will be Hein Vingerling and Mark Hopkins.

In February of 1996, Vingerling, Hopkins, and a few others organized “Matthew 28,” an organization whose goal is to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ into the greater Pignon area of central Haiti. “Matthew 28” supports multiple nutrition centers, an orphanage, and several medical clinics. Additionally, members have conducted Bible studies for local pastors, built several churches, distributed over 2,000 Bibles written in the Creole language, and led many Haitians (including voodoo priests) to commit their lives to Christ.

There also will be representatives from other missions, many of them local, that Fayette Presbyterian supports. Representatives will be available between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. to answer questions about their ministries and to share ways others can become involved.

Breakfast will be served between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. and the community is invited. The church is at 791 Forest Ave. (Ga. Hwy. 92 N.). Directions and more information about FPC are on the church Web site, www.fayettepcusa.org, or are available by calling the church office, 770-461-7147.
