Patriots have two baseball players and a tennis player ink scholarshipsMon, 05/01/2006 - 12:52pm

Three Sandy Creek seniors signed athletic scholarships on Friday morning. James Tomlin signed a four year scholarship to attend and play tennis for the Air Force Academy, while Kel Cudsik signed a scholarship to attend and play baseball for Middle Georgia College and Tyler Bestill signed a scholarship to attend and play baseball for Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Sandy Creek tennis coach Lisa Pearce stated she was proid of Tomlin’s accomplishments and mentioned he was ranked third in the state in USTA play. The Sandy Creek Air Force ROTC sang “Off We Go, Into the Wild Blue Yonder” in honor of Tomlin’s scholarship. Sandy Creek baseball coach Eddy Householder praised both Cudsik and Betsill for being valuable members of the baseball team and the student body of the school. Cudsik has been a three year starter for the Patriots and Betsill has been a starter for both the baseball and football teams since transferring to the school two years ago. login to post comments |
