Coweta’s two incumbent County Commissioners will face challengers in this year’s election. District 2 Commissioner and Republican Greg Tarbutton will face opposition from Republican Tim Lasseter, while District 3 Commissioner Larry DeMoss will face off against Randolph Collins in the July 18 Republican primary. Democrat Willie Boyd has also qualified in the race. If there is a run-off in any of the primary races, it will be August 8. Superintendent of Elections Jane Scoggins said four members of Coweta County’s Board of Education-Smith Pass, Mike Sumner, Steve Bedrosian and Brian Roy, are also up for election this year, but qualifying for those non-partisan races are June 26-30. Municipal candidates in Senoia will qualify the last week of August. login to post comments |
