Kudos to Fayette English teachers for grammar fun

In response to Mike Boylan’s article, “Another year; another book written by MHS English students,” I am so impressed with the way teachers Burnette and Lovett have challenged their students with worthwhile English assignments.

From my own high school experience and that of my two teenagers, we all found our English classes dry and boring. So tedious were the monotonous grammar lessons and books we had to read that held little interest.

I admire the way these MHS teachers are coming up with “fun” ways to learn grammar while reading the classics and taking away valuable life lessons “such as acceptance and tolerance, courage and perseverance and love and friendship, among others.”

I can’t go back in time and relive those high school English days, but I can, and will, look forward to purchasing this book at Omega Books written by the MHS students.
