All Whitewater High health occupations competitors have earned the privilege to represent Georgia in the National Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Conference this summer.

A total of 21 students from Whitewater participated in the state conference, each one placing within the top three of each competitive event and earning a spot in the nationals, which will be held in Anaheim, Ca. this June. They will compete against the top students in the country whose future goals are to become healthcare professionals. The students are Morgan Ammons, Jasmine Beckwith, Mary Buller, Ciara Edwards, Tanya Feilke, Shannon Fincher, Aaron Grech, Kyle Friez, Teresa Hill, Emily Holt, Claire Huff, Christy Knowles, Raven Landry, Nicole McKinney, Elizabeth McLaughlin, Ehizele Osehbobo, Olivia Pinyan, Brooke Reed, Bryan Roberts, Seth Wilkenson, Jazmine Williamson and Heather Ziegfeld.

HOSA is an intracurricular student run organization that compliments the student’s academic studies through Healthcare Science Technology. These students go through painstaking testing of medical knowledge, mastering of medical skills, development of communication and leadership skills and employability skills. This meticulous process truly prepares the students for careers in the health care profession.
