L.C. Lane will perform at McDonough Road Baptist

Recording artist L. C. Lane, composer, guitarist, and humorist, will present a concert Sunday, April 30, at 10:55 a.m. and 1 p.m. at McDonough Road Baptist Church in Fayetteville.

Lane, a native of Columbus, is a graduate of Columbus State University and the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. For 30 years, he served on the staff of local churches in Georgia and Kentucky. His last position was at the First Baptist Church of Newnan, where he was minister of music for 23 years.

Lane has sung in churches and other venues throughout the United States as well as events in Africa, Europe, Canada, Central and South America. Over the last 35 years, he has presented more than 2800 programs. He has released five recordings, including “Greatest Life,” which was released in the fall of 2005.

Lane also has served in interim positions for local churches, giving leadership while the church searches for a minister of music. He served as interim minister of music for First Baptist, Fayetteville, and McDonough Road Baptist.

At McDonough Road this Sunday, Lane will perform a mini-concert during the morning worship service at 10:55 a.m., and an afternoon concert in the newly opened youth center at approximately 1 p.m.

Lane’s performance is part of “Five Great Sundays,” a time of celebration, dedication and commitment as the church family completes a building and renovation project.
