Jereme De Leo

Jereme De Leo of Newnan will be ordained to the priesthood in the International Communion of the Charismatic Episcopal Church (ICCEC) Sunday, April 30, at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary of Christ the King Church in Sharpsburg. De Leo has been a member of Christ the King for more than nine years and has served more than three years as an ordained deacon in the ICCEC.

Participating in the ceremony will be the Most Rev. John W. Holloway, bishop of the Mid-South Diocese (Georgia and Tennessee), who will preach and serve as officiant and celebrant during the service; Father David Monroe of Smyrna, canon liturgist for the diocese and rector of Church of the Holy Trinity, who will serve as master of ceremonies; and Father David Epps, rector of Christ the King and canon to the ordinary for the diocese, who will be the host pastor.

De Leo recently concluded studies at St. Michael’s Seminary where he will receive a licentiate of theology. Previously he served as a lay eucharistic minister and as a licensed liturgical minister. He also is the denomination’s representative in Georgia for CECforLife, a pro-life organization.

De Leo also served with a core group that helped to establish a mission congregation, St. Matthew’s, in Hogansville. Currently, he oversees the licensed liturgical minister program at Christ the King.

He is a member of the church’s worship ministry where he plays drums, guitar, sings, and writes songs. He and his wife, the former Dawn Jones, currently serve as senior high youth leaders. They have two children.

De Leo is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. William De Leo of Wilmington, N.C., a retired Army lieutenant colonel and chaplain.

Christ the King Church is on Ga. Hwy. 34, between Peachtree City and Newnan.
