Steve and Judy Gable of Fayetteville announce the engagement of their daughter, Sharon Marie Gable, to Michael David Sharp, son of Chuck and Ann Sharp of Winston-Salem, N.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Robert and June Kyzer of Fayetteville and the late Glen and Evelyn Gable of Carrollton. She is a 2000 graduate of Fayette County High School and a 2004 graduate of the State University of West Georgia in Carrollton where she received a bachelor of science degree in criminology. She currently is employed by Tri-Circuit Drug Task Force in Claxton.

The groom-elect is the grandson of William Roe of Grand Rapids, Mich., the late Warren and Delores Sharp of Winston-Salem, N.C., and the late Shirley Rubright of Lynchburg, Pa. He is a 2001 graduate of Gospel Light Christian School in Winston-Salem, N.C., and a 2004 graduate of Gardner-Webb University where he received a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice. He currently is employed by the East Central Georgia Drug Task Force in Swainsboro.

The wedding will be May 12, 2006, at the Beach View Club on Jekyll Island, with a reception following the ceremony. A second reception, open to the community, will be held June 3, 2006, from 2-5 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Fayetteville.

Following a honeymoon, the couple will reside in Lyons.
