Local DAR chapter takes home honors

Nine Daughters from the General Daniel Newnan, Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, took home over 40 honors for individual and Chapter awards at the 107th Georgia Society State Conference in Augusta, Ga.
In addition seven gift baskets were won by the Chapter in various drawings. "We have been greatly blessed by the community supporting many of our projects to help our veterans and to give scholarships to local students," stated Brenda Jessel, Regent of the General Daniel Newnan Chapter.
The DAR welcomes any women 18 years or older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot or a person who aided the cause of the American Revolution. The Chapter meets monthly August through May, alternately in Newnan and Peachtree City, and serves members in Fayette, Coweta and Meriwether Counties.
