It was the same old story for the McIntosh Lady Chiefs soccer team, even if they picked up more losses this season than in the past. The McIntosh girls faced Woodward Academy in the region finals on Friday night and won 2-1, giving the Lady Chiefs another region crown and another top seeding heading into the AAAA state playoffs.

The Whitewater boys soccer team also faced Woodward and outlasted them 4-2 in penalty kicks to earn their first region championship and their first top seeding in the state playoffs.

The McIntosh boys and Whitewater girls also picked up wins Friday, making them both three seeds for the tournament which opens this Wednesday. The Chiefs defeated Northgate 6-1 and the Lady Wildcats beat Chapel Hill 4-1.

Starr's Mill's game against Fayette County, which was postponed due to weather Thursday night, got off without a hitch Friday. The Panthers won the game 4-1.
