Peachtree City’s new library building isn’t just a hit among locals.

It has also gained some national recognition. The library is featured in the April issue of “American Libraries” magazine in a showcase of new or newly renovated library facilities.

Peachtree City’s new building was featured along with 31 other libraries in the country. It was the only one selected from Georgia.

“This is a huge honor,” said Library Administrator Jill Prouty. “We knew we had an outstanding facility, but to receive this kind of recognition from the American Library Association is the icing on the cake.”

Circulation continues to break records, with March being the biggest month in the library’s circulation history. During the month, more than 30,000 items were checked out.

The library is now giving its website a makeover. Soon it will feature new books complete with jacket covers and book reviews similar to Amazon.com, Prouty said.

The new web site look will be completed by the end of the month.
