City Council approves 250 homes

One of Senoia’s biggest developments got the go-ahead Monday night to move forward with the second phase of its project.

Developer Bob Rolader appeared before the City Council and said the second phase of Heritage Pointe on Rockaway Road will have 282 homes. The total subdivision will have more than 600 homes which will have an enormous impact on the city’s population.

Donna Black, who represented Rolader, said the developer had already contributed more than $467,000 towards a new water tower, along with $52,000 for new wells.

During the first phase of the development, home builder DR Horton had asked for variances on some of the buffer requirements, but was ultimately rebuffed by the City Council.

“I don’t blame you for turning those down,” Rolader said.

The City Council unanimously approved the preliminary plat for the second phase.
