Staffers at the Peachtree City Tennis Center have moved back into their downstairs offices this week, although the repairs from flooding several months ago won’t be made until the flooding issue has been fixed, officials said.

After the flooding occurred, seven staff members shared space in what is now the city’s visitors center, which is also on the tennis center campus, said Tennis Center Director David Gary. The arrangement was a little cramped to say the least, so staff is glad to head back downstairs in the main administrative building, even if they are using tables instead of desks and there is no carpeting down.

City officials are working on a fix to the drainage system to prevent the problem from occurring again. The flooding resulted in a couple of inches of water penetrating the downstairs offices after a heavy rain.

Meanwhile, the tennis center is gearing up for a few big fall tournaments. About 10 or 11 Division I college teams will be in town for the Fall SEC Coaches’ Classic Nov. 3-6 and the Junior USTA tournament will be held Nov. 11-13.

Both events are open to the public.
