Show your patriotism! Bring your family and friends and join the Memorial Day Celebration and Festival in historic Senoia May 29. The parade honoring all U.S military, past and present, kicks off at 10 a.m. The "Car Guys," Scott Sargeant and Charlie Filkins of AM 720 The Voice, will emcee the event, with music provided by Wesley Culpepper of WC Sounds. Individuals, groups, and businesses are invited to participate in the parade. Be creative and patriotic - decorate in red, white, and blue.

Delicious food will be available from Senoia Coffee Co., Hank's BBQ, and Chick-Fil-A. Other food vendors will sell funnel cakes, shaved ice cones, and homemade goodies from local churches. Festival booths are available for selling art, antiques, and handmade crafts (no yard sale items). Booths are 15 x 15 feet, and the cost is $25.

The Commemorative Air Force Dixie Wing will stage its World War II living history exhibit on site. Civil War and Revolutionary War re-enactors in period dress will bring earlier history to life. Delight your children with real pony rides, face painting, and rides in a World War II jeep.

After the downtown festivities end at 5 p.m., cap off your delightful day with music, entertainment and an evening fire works show at the ball fields on Howard Road in Senoia.

The Memorial Day Celebration and Festival are sponsored by the City of Senoia and the Downtown Development Authority. For more information, or to register for the parade or for a Festival booth, contact Gail Downs at 770-599-1959 or 770-599-9155, or Suzanne Helfman at 770-599-8182.
