Peachtree City police are urging the little ghouls, goblins and other trick-or-treaters to use caution when going door-to-door Monday night.

Motorists in particular are urged to be on the lookout for dressed-up youngsters, some of whom may be difficult to see because they are in dark costumes.

Caution in crossing streets is particularly urged, and trick-or-treaters should use flashlights, battery-powered lanterns or light sticks to make themselves visible, police said. Also, reflective tape can be added to costumes or bags to enhance visibility.

Parents are also encouraged to check all treats before kids are allowed to eat them, and also to make sure kids know their phone number and how to call 911 if they become lost.

Parents should also consider accompanying even older children and arranging for them to stay in a group and visit well-known neighborhoods.
