Sams receives Community Service Award

Marie Sams of Fayetteville is the recipient of the 2005 Community Service Award presented by the Thomas Wingfield Chapter of the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. Mrs. Sams was recognized for her work with the Joseph Sams School in Fayetteville, a school for children with special needs. She currently serves as the director of the school. The Colonial Dames XVII Century was founded in 1915 as a non-profit hereditary organization whose goals include patriotism, the preservation of records and historical sites, and the promotion of education.
