Sarah Dorney, daughter of John and Lynn Dorney of Fayetteville, was recently announced as the winner of the Christopher Columbus Essay Contest sponsored by the Augustin Clayton Daughters of the American Revolution Chapter. Dorney, a sophomore at Fayette County High School, won over entries from the Fayette-Henry-Clayton County area. Her essay has been forwarded on for state competition.
