FACTOR, Fayette County’s Family Connection collaborative, Fayette Elementary Schools and our county’s public libraries have partnered to “Frame the Future”

In March, FACTOR presented the elementary school counselors and 5th grade teachers with the idea of an Essay/Art project that allowed the children to express what they wanted their community to be and look like in the future. We had nine of Fayette County’s 15 Elementary Schools to participate! So 318 children shared their thoughts and hopes for what their community should look like in the future. There were many interesting “futuristic” modes of travel and concepts for conveniences shared! But the most encouraging theme that ran through a large number of the entries centered on people helping others in need, spending time with those who were lonely and working to make the community a safe and healthy place for people to live. Littering, drugs, cigarettes, alcohol and abuse were mentioned as things that needed to be eliminated from the community. Our future has spoken and FACTOR intends to listen and work to make their hopes for the future a reality!

Consider taking some time to visit the Fayette County, Peachtree City and Tyrone Libraries from April 19-28 to view these thought provoking works of art!
