Local conference not just another ‘God bless the missionaries’ meeting

A revolutionary shift in mission involvement is sweeping through local churches nationwide as they assume greater responsibility and ownership of the Great Commission.

No more generic “God-bless-the-missionary” prayers. Gone are the days of laissez-faire support and random, disconnected trips abroad. These missions-minded pastors and leaders are working with missionaries on the field to take personalization to a new level.

Step one: hardcore, no-holds-barred training by real professionals who live and serve on the field. One of the most innovative ways for receiving this education is by attending a Frontliners Conference training event sponsored by the Middle America and Caribbean Region of the International Mission Board (IMB).

Designed to encourage, educate and equip missions leaders for effective overseas work, Frontliners Conferences serve as a point of entry for many who later go on to become a Strategy Coordinator Church, totally in charge of engaging unreached people groups in the Americas and around the world.

According to Regional Training Associate Ken Sorrell, Frontliners is a crash-course of sorts that takes pastors, leaders, in fact, anyone whose heart is bent toward missions, who already get the “why” of missions deeper into the “how” of strategic involvement.

The next Frontliners Conference is scheduled for April 28-29, 2006, at Flat Creek Baptist Church in Fayetteville. Registration is $20 per person.

For more information on how to register for this upcoming Frontliners training event, contact Gary Pearson at (770) 251-7030 or email us at hubchurch@flatcreekbaptist.org.

In just a couple of days, the training funnels down from broad landscapes to detailed pictures for individuals who desire to lead or participate in a strategic trip or series of trips abroad that is focused on impacting the lost.

Frontliners Conference graduates from the past have found an increase in effectiveness and enjoy knowing their efforts overseas are creating maximum impact.
