Bryan and Barbara Thompson of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their son, Benjamin Thompson, to Renee Thompson, daughter of Jim and Sarah Thompson of Leesburg.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Robert and Betty Thompson of Tifton, and the late Ned and Ruth McMillan of Gadsden, Ala. He is a 1998 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2002 graduate of Georgia Southern University. He teaches special education at Staley Middle School in Americus.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mary Lois Taylor of Leesburg and Ella Mae Addison of Newton. She is a 1999 graduate of Lee County High School and a 2005 graduate of Georgia Southwestern State University. She teaches seventh grade math at Staley Middle School.

The wedding will be July 15 at Calvary Baptist Church in Albany.
