Peachtree City’s local swim club Southern Crescent Aquatic Team competed at the Southern Zone Eastern Senior Sectional Championships in Nashville, Tenn., March 9-12.

The team was represented by Bailey Cartwright, Lauren Cartwright, Katelyn Davis, Josh Day, MacKenzie Garrot, Keaton Hannon, Katie Haycraft, Matt Hildebrand, Sarah Larson, Thomas Lucak, David Menchinger, Zach Payne, Nicole Roddenbery and Lauren Scott.

Outstanding individual performances were executed by Lauren Cartwright, Roddenbery, Payne, and Menchinger.

Lauren Cartwright placed 2nd in the 200 Butterfly, 3rd in the 200 Individual Medley, 3rd in the 400 Individual Medley, 5th in the 100 Freestyle, 6th in the 200 Breaststroke, 8th in the 200 Freestyle, 8th in the 500 Freestyle, and 8th in the 100 Breaststroke. She placed in the top eight in every individual event she swam and placed 4th on the overall female individual point rankings list.

Roddenbery placed 5th in the 100 Butterfly, 11th in the 100 Breaststroke, 17th in the 200 Individual Medley, and 20th in the 200 Butterfly.

Payne placed 10th in the 200 Butterfly.
Menchinger placed 16th in the 200 Backstroke and 21st in the 100 Backstroke.

Davis qualified for the Junior National Championships in the 100 Butterfly, her first Junior National time standard.

The swimmers mentioned above all qualified for the Junior National Championships held in Orlando, Florida, near the end of March.
The team’s relays (4 individuals competing together in one event) also performed impressively.

The girls 800 Freestyle Relay including Roddenbery, Scott, Haycraft, and Lauren Cartwright swam to 8th place and qualified for Junior National Championships in Orlando.
The same line-up also placed 12th in the 400 Freestyle Relay along with a 25th place swim by Larson, Bailey Cartwright, Haycraft, and Garrot in the same event.

The men’s 400 Freestyle Relay of Menchinger, Lucak, Hildebrand, and Payne placed 19th.

The women’s 400 Medley Relay of Lauren Cartwright, Roddenbery, Davis, and Scott placed 14th along with a 24th place finish by Bailey Cartwright, Garrot, Hannon, and Larson.

The men’s 400 Medley Relay of Menchinger, Day, Lucak, and Hildebrand placed 18th.

The Southern Crescent Aquatic Team women placed 6th overall while placing 12th overall on the Combined Team Scores list out of 52 teams in the region.
