Eagle Scouts Beadling, Haggerty, Hayes

Scoutmaster Phil Carson and Asst. Scoutmaster Steve Powell, of Boy Scout Troop 181, recently awarded Boy Scout’s highest honor, the Eagle Scout award, to Russell Beadling, Patrick Haggerty, and Andrew Hayes. The Scouts received their Eagle Scout awards on March 19, in a triple Court of Honor ceremony at the First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City.

Beadling is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Beadling of Peachtree City. Hayes is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hayes of Peachtree City. Haggerty is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Haggerty of Fayetteville. All three Scouts are seniors at Starr's Mill High School.

Earning Eagle Scout ranking is a rigorous process that includes earning 21 merit badges and putting together a service project. Only about 4 percent of all Boy Scouts earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

Troop 181 is a High Adventure Boy Scout Troop. The Troop meets every Tuesday night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Christ our Shepherd Lutheran Church located at the corner of Peachtree Parkway and Highway 54 in Peachtree City.
