Christian City gala kicks off next 40 years of serviceTue, 04/11/2006 - 10:51am
By: The Citizen
Christian City recently celebrated their 40th birthday with a 1940’s style gala which raised over $105,000 for the Home for Children. Christian City got it’s start in 1965 when area churches came together to fulfill the need for a safe place for abandoned and abused children. Twelve young boys and two houseparents occupied the first cottage. Over the years the non-profit organization has grown to house over 1,000 residents on 500 acres and has 400 employees.
