Rotary’s Purple Fingers for PolioPlus

On March 4, in recognition of Rotary International’s Founders’ Day celebrations and Rotary’s ongoing commitment to the global eradication of Polio, the Purple Fingers for PolioPlus Campaign was launched. The purpose of this campaign is to raise the level of community and district awareness to the goals, accomplishments and, Rotary’s continuing efforts to achieve worldwide eradication of polio. In keeping with the now ‘symbolic’ purple fingers representing a visible acknowledgment of those individuals who have received the vaccine, all Rotary Club members within District 6900 supporting and participating in the PolioPlus campaign to eradicate polio showed their support by the wearing of a purple finger during the week of March 6 through 10.
