Senoia resident Jamie Page has been awarded the Gordon College Chafin Smith Study Abroad Scholarship for 2006.

Page is a second-year student at Gordon and plans to use her scholarship to help complete her foreign language requirement. She will be studying Spanish in Barcelona and will depart for Spain in May.

The 2004 graduate of East Coweta High School said she really likes the Spanish language and may declare Spanish as her major or minor area of study. Page said she is looking forward to the classroom work that comes with the month-long stay and rooming with a native Spanish family.

Both of those experiences include intensive use of Spanish.
She said her parents, two sisters and brother have been very supportive of her decision to study overseas.
