For the third year in a row, Piedmont Fayette Hospital has been named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals by Solucient, a healthcare information company.

The award recognizes hospitals that achieve excellence in quality of care, operational efficiency, financial performance and adaptation to the environment. Solucient’s Center for Healthcare Improvement conducts an annual statistical analysis and determines national benchmarks for its study. According to the company, a balanced organizational performance “reflects a hospital’s ability to provide sustainable and reliable healthcare services to its patients and community.”

“The award is a credit to recognizes the work of Piedmont Fayette Hospital's employees, volunteers, medical staff, management team and Board every day and is a true tribute to their commitment,” said Darrell Cutts, president and CEO of Piedmont Fayette Hospital.

Piedmont Fayette Hospital, a 100-bed acute care community hospital, opened nine years ago and offers 24-hour emergency services, medical and surgical services, as well as diagnostic and rehabilitation services. With more than 1000 employees and a medical staff of more than 350 physicians, PFH is a private, not-for-profit organization and a member of Piedmont Healthcare, which also includes Piedmont Hospital, a 500-bed acute tertiary care facility in the north Atlanta community of Buckhead, the Piedmont Hospital Foundation; Piedmont Physicians Group, with more than 70 primary care physicians in a network of 18 offices throughout metro Atlanta, the Piedmont Clinic, a 469-member physician network and others.

“We take great pride in Piedmont Fayette’s recognition as a 100 Top Hospital in the nation and congratulate Darrell Cutts and his extraordinary team of dedicated employees and physicians,” said R. Timothy Stack, President and CEO of Piedmont Healthcare.

Winners of the 100 Top Hospitals National award were less likely to experience medical injuries than peer hospitals. In addition, the Emergency Departments of the nation’s top performing hospitals tend to have a higher percentage of patients requiring more complex treatment or admission to the hospital than emergency departments at non-winners.
