A Riverdale man was killed early this morning in an auto crash on Banks Road near Vaughn Road, police said.

Mack S. Edwards, 42, was driving his 1996 Nissan truck west on Banks Road when the collision occurred, police said. His truck was struck when a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Mikaela L. Figel, 20, of Peachtree City crossed the center line of the road.

Both vehicles were destroyed in the collision. Figel and a passenger in her car, Travis Luethje, 18, of Fayetteville, were seriously injured and taken to Atlanta Medical Center, police said.

It is not known why Figel’s car crossed the center line, police said.

The crash is being investigated by the Traffic Enforcement Division of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.
