Fayette County has notified the City of Peachtree City of an upcoming renovation project at the Animal Shelter on Highway 74 South. The project, which began April 4, will require the temporary relocation of approximately 20 dogs to the old Fayette County Water System maintenance building on Kelly Drive.

Peachtree City Spokesperson Betsy Tyler said, “We appreciate the county letting us know about the temporary move in advance. It gives us an opportunity to let residents in the Kelly Drive area know they may hear the animals for the brief time they will be in the facility.”

County Manager Chris Venice indicated that the project should be completed and all animals moved back to the Animal Shelter in 10 days.
