Norman John Johnson

Norman John Johnson, 91, Fairmont, W. Va., died March 27, 2006. He was visiting family in Peachtree City. He was born Sept. 22, 1914 in Waupaca, Wisc., son of George Jule and Axa Harrington Johnson.

He served in the United States Army, 30th Infantry Division, from 1943 to 1945 and received two Purple Hearts. He was an avid golfer. He worked in the sheet metal industry, and was on the board of Governors of the American Mining Congress and President of Transmission Products, Inc.

A memorial service was held at Christ Episcopal Church, Fairmont, W. Va.

Survivors include his wife, Cecelia DuBay Johnson, Fairmont; sons, Norman G. and Patty Johnson, Atlanta, and Tomas J. and Dawn Johnson, Peachtree City; four grandchildren, Natalie, Norman Grant, Danielle, and Joshua Jule; and a sister, Betty and Edward Borski, Baraboo, Wisc.

Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, Peachtree City, was in charge of local arrangements.
