Gym South teams successful at state meetTue, 04/04/2006 - 11:46am

The 2006 Georgia Men’s Gymnastics State Championships took place on Saturday, March 25. Gym South Men’s Optional Team competed and had one of its most successful state meets in Gym South’s 20 year history. The Level 5 team placed fourth with Phillip Frazier and Nikki Hutchison placing second and third in the All-Around and both making the Georgia State Team. The Level 6 boys also competed well. Malek Bowe placed third in the All-Around and is a member of the Level 6 Georgia State Team. The Level 10 team received 2nd place team trophy. The boys managed to win six bronze medals, five silver and six gold. Jeremy Adams was crowned State Champion in the Level 10 age 14-15 Category. Four boys will be representing Georgia (Lee Wilkerson, Jared Breeden, Jeremy Adams, and AJ Thompson) as they compete against Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. Gym South wishes good luck to all of their boys who qualified to this year Regional Championships on April 8 in Charleston, South Carolina: Jeremy Adams, Jared Breeden, Bryan Gibbs, Michael Gibbs, Jake McPherson, Chris Nelms, Brian Newman, A.J. Thompson, Lee Wilkerson, Phillip Frazier, Nikki Hutchison, Malek Bowe, Colin Platt and Chas Van De Motter. login to post comments |
