Author Sue Monk Kidd at the library

Award-winning author Sue Monk Kidd comes to Fayetteville through the efforts of the Friends of the Fayette County Public Library, in cooperation with the Fayette County Public Library today at 7 p.m. to discuss her bestselling second novel, “The Mermaid Chair,” released in paperback March 7. Ms. Kidd will speak at the Fayette County Administrative Complex Public Meeting Room, with a question-and-answer session to follow. Everyone attending the event is invited to proceed to the Fayette County Public Library immediately afterward for a gala reception in honor of Sue Monk Kidd. At the library reception, the author will sign copies of her books, which will be available for sale at the event. Refreshments will be served and entertainment provided in the library’s meeting room. Ms. Kidd created a sensation with the 2002 publication of her debut novel, “The Secret Life of Bees.” The event is free of charge and open to the public.
