Fayetteville City Planners

Fayetteville ain't got no soul.

It's all about big box stores and subdivisions full of shoddily built houses. "Park" seems not to be in the vocabulary of those in charge. Or "sidewalk." Or "charming downtown." Or "community."

I will say, though, that I am happy that the Penny's has come in to replace the K-Mart. It will make a much more attractive empty store when they fold up and leave.

Imagine a place with genuine neighborhoods full of older homes that have been or are being renovated. Imagine being able to walk from one of those homes--without taking your life in your hands--along sidewalks and reaching a burgeoning downtown district of cafes and (God--or the Southern Baptist Convention--forbid) pubs. Imagine some place other than Fayetteville.
