“Medium,” “The Ghost Whisperer,” “Charmed,” “Lost,” “Invasion”: all of these television shows have captured the attention of the American public. They are called “paranormals,” and the same trend has made paranormal novels hot with readers across the country.

Deidre Knight, a resident of Madison, Ga., is one of the nation’s top literary agents, representing some of the brightest stars in paranormal fiction. Now she is launching her own career as an author with “Parallel Attraction,” a paranormal novel of danger, passion, and a love that crosses all boundaries of time and space. The first in a projected series, the novel (available April 4) is slated to be followed by “Parallel Heat” in the fall of this year, and “Parallel Seduction” in the spring of 2007.

Join Deidre Knight at the Fayette County Public Library on Tuesday, April 4 at 11 a.m., where she will reveal how she has parlayed a lifelong love of what she calls “woo-woo” elements into an exciting new series of novels for one of the world’s foremost publishing companies. After speaking, Ms. Knight will sign copies of “Parallel Attraction,” which will be available for sale. Light refreshments will be served. This free event is open to the public, and brought to you by the Fayette County Public Library and the Friends of the Fayette County Public Library.

In conjunction with this public appearance, Deidre Knight has offered to schedule one-on-one 10-minute “pitch” sessions beforehand with the first five aspiring authors who call to schedule such a session. To take advantage of this special opportunity, contact Ms. Knight’s publicist directly at 800-308-3169. After the one-on-one session slots have been filled, any other writers who attend the public program will be invited to mail their manuscripts to Deidre Knight’s agency for consideration.

The Fayette County Public Library is located at 1821 Heritage Park Way in Fayetteville, behind the county administrative complex at the corner of Highway 85 and Highway 54. The program will be held in the Dorothea Redwine Meeting Room. For more information, please contact the library at 770-461-8841.
