Lady Chiefs continue their winning ways

The McIntosh Chiefs are riding high at this stage of the season. The team consists of players Kristen Adlington, Rachel Adlington, Marybeth Black, Kristen Cobb, Stephanie Daughenbaugh, Emma Fisher, Megan McPherson (Captain), Jessica Piester, Whitney Plummer, Maggie Poffenberger, Courtney Rollings, Lyndsi Tufte, Keegan Vining and Kendall Wilde. Coached by Coach Karcz and Coach Doyle.

The McIntosh girl’s tennis team built on their strong start to the season with impressive wins this week against Columbus High School and Creekside High School.

For the girls singles players Mary Beth Black, Kendall Wilde and Stephanie Daughenbaugh had strong wins. The doubles pairings of Jessica Piester/Lindsey Tufte, Emma Fisher/Keegan Vining also had solid wins.

They have been dominant all season and are 3-0 in the 4AAAA region and 6-0 overall for the season.
The McIntosh boys also won 4 – 1 over Columbus High School and 5-0 over Creekside High School and have only dropped one match this season to Woodward. They have a regional record of 2.-1 and overall record of 6-2. Singles Players Austin Tilton, Joe Styga and John Higgins all had competitive matches this week against Columbus High School. The doubles pairings of Davy Widtfeldt/Jonathon Emmet, Kent Dunson/Matt Thompson and Kyle Koonce/ Yuki Yamada all had great wins.

This week The Chiefs play Northgate at Northgate and Sandy Creek at the Peachtree City Tennis Center. Next week they play Starr's Mill at the Peachtree City Tennis Center. Regional play starts on April 17th.
