The McIntosh varsity girls basketball program will have a new coach when the 2006-2007 season begins.

David Dowse, formerly the head coach for Grayson High School's varsity girls basketball team, has been hired by McIntosh High School. Dowse, who compiled a 59-52 record and four state tournament appearances in his four years as head coach of the Lady Rams, resigned from his coaching and teaching duties at Grayson High on Wednesday.

McIntosh principal Tracie Fleming confirmed Thursday morning that Dowse would be the new varsity girls head basketball coach.
