Fayetteville police are investigating a break-in at the Lenscrafters at the Fayette Pavilion that was reported Sunday morning.

The incident was discovered by an employee who was opening the store and noticed the burglar alarm was activated, police said. One of the building’s glass doors had been broken, and several display cases were turned over during the incident, police said.

Because the alarm company did not summon police to the scene when the alarm was activated, it is not clear exactly when the burglary occurred, police said.

It is not yet known if any money or other items were missing from the business, which hadn’t provided that information to police by Tuesday morning.

The scene was processed by the city’s Crime Scene Unit to collect any physical evidence that might lead to the identification of any suspects involved, police said.
