My thanks to the coalition military members who risked their lives and rescued three peace activists from their Iraqi killers.

After hearing the great news on the radio this morning that the activists had been freed, I went to the Web site of the organization which sponsored them: http://www.cpt.org/.

In reading the news release, I searched in vain for a word of thanks to those who rescued the Canadian and Briton. Instead I read a call for an immediate end to the illegal occupation of Iraq.

I offer my respects to the servicemen (those illegal occupiers) willing to take a bullet in order to save the lives of those who respond with contempt rather than gratitude.
