I appreciate this opportunity to share more of who I am and what Peachtree City can accomplish with the right leadership and vision.
My wife, Virginia, and I, moved to Peachtree City because we found a balance here between recreational amenities, housing selection, quality schools, and business opportunities in a safe, friendly, planned community. Today, as the final phase of the master plan nears, the community faces the challenge of developing plans for the future that uphold the city’s original values and ensures our standards are preserved for our children.

Immediate issues of concern include: completion of the newest comprehensive city plan; prioritization and implementation of priorities in countywide transportation plans; maintenance of multi-use paths; providing for storm-water system; and working to insure adequate water supply and recreational opportunities for the coming decades.

The level of tax investment by a community balanced against the services desired by the community presents a never-ending challenge. Council members must consider individual expenditures and be convinced of the value of each to the community. Beyond undertaking such decision-making in a businesslike manner, there are additional duties: safety, quality of life, and maintaining a strong and diverse tax base.

While we work together on key issues like annexation and the safety and upkeep of our multi-use paths, we must also incorporate community plans to facilitate employment opportunities; higher education; theatre and arts; youth centers; class-A recreational facilities; and varied housing and service options for our seniors. A focus on targeted economic development in new and existing areas, while managing quality residential redevelopment will help insure the vibrancy of our community.

We need to set the plan and systematically complete projects on time, within budget, working inside a framework of constructive and positive relationships. City leadership is about earning community trust by being accountable in all areas of responsibility, and promptly implementing solutions to the issues and problems. It takes much more than a strong desire to develop and facilitate a solid plan for the community. I bring to the table the necessary extensive business and management skills to serve the community and realize our goals.

I am asking for your confidence and your vote.
