Racism here in Fayette?

It is obvious that there is a cancer of racism afflicting this nation, with whites harboring feelings of hatred towards blacks, blacks harboring the same towards whites, and then there are the feelings against Hispanic immigrants, Arabs, Asians, and Muslims.

The Bible says in I John 4:20 that “If a man say, If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”

Yet today we reject the Bible in favor of politics, philosophy, economics, and any and all other inventions of mankind that tells us it is OK to reject God’s word through his son Jesus Christ and hate our brother.

What is at stake is far bigger than your tax bill, your property value, your child’s chances of getting into college, your retirement prospects, and whatever name that we apply to a piece of roadway or an airport.

While it is very sad what hatred does to societies, it is even sadder what it does to individuals, and society is composed of individuals.

I am welcoming all people of all races and persuasions in Fayette County to turn their backs on this destructive hatred and instead learn to love all people so that we can learn to love God.

It is much easier and more natural to hate than to love, but no one ever said that obeying God was easy. But the hard way is always the way that pays off, and the ones who take the easy way out will always be left behind.

Do not let it happen to you. Choose life, not death. End the hate and learn to love. Do not wait for tomorrow; start today.
