Fayette’s middle and high school students earned a combined 65 ribbons at the annual Spoken Language Contest sponsored by the Foreign Language Association of Georgia (FLAG).

Over 500 students from across Georgia competed on March 4 at Marietta High School in Cobb. The contest evaluates language students on their ability to communicate in the target language by conversation with an interviewer. Interviews last five to 10 minutes, depending on the student’s language level. Latin students competed in an oratorical contest, reciting passages that commensurate with their level of study. Students earn ribbons of Superior, Excellent and Notable.
