Superintendent for a day

What is it like to be in charge of one of the top performing school systems in the state? Joey Curtin of Starr’s Mill High got a chance to experience first hand how it feels to be the person responsible for Fayette’s 29 schools and its more than 22,000 students.

The 10th grader spent one morning job shadowing Superintendent John DeCotis while he met with faculty and staff and visited several schools. Before starting his adventure, Joey said he was looking forward to getting an insider’s look into running a school system.

“I think it is going to be interesting. I have never thought about being a school superintendent before. After today, it might be something I might consider,” he said.
