Delta Community Credit Union recently received approval from the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance to amend its membership base to include the residents of Fayette County. Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives that return their earnings to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher deposit rates and lower fees. Delta Community CU was chartered by the state of Georgia in 1940 to serve the employees of Delta Air Lines, Inc. Today, the credit union serves the employees and family members of Delta and its subsidiaries, as well as select employee groups, associations and residential communities. With $2.5 billion in assets, Delta Community is a recognized leader in providing both lending and deposit products to its 161,000 members via its Web site at www.decu.org. The main office for Delta Community Credit Union is located at 1025 Virginia Avenue, with five branch offices in metro Atlanta, and additional locations in the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky, Dallas-Southlake, Texas areas and Salt Lake City. Delta Community Credit Union opened its second full-service branch in Fayette County Jan. 26 in Fayetteville in the Summit Point shopping area at 140 South Highway 92. The credit union has a branch in the Braelinn Village Shopping Center in Peachtree City and a second Peachtree City Branch at 315 North Hwy. 74 is slated to open in late 2006. In addition, two branches are currently under construction in Henry County at Center Pointe Parkway near Eagle’s Landing and at 5006 Mt. Zion Parkway. Both of these locations in Stockbridge are scheduled to open in the late spring. The new credit union branches will have the latest automation available. “With the automated system we’re employing, transactions will be able to be handled with greater efficiency and speed, yet the technology will enable our Member Service Representatives to give members greater one-on-one service,” said Becky Davis, VP of Branch Operations. “The new system we’re using will also bring increased accuracy and security.” Debbie Adan, SVP HR and Office Operations, added, “Our goal in creating and staffing these community branches is to bring our members fast, convenient service in a friendly, welcoming environment. Members will benefit from this dynamic new service delivery.” Delta Community Credit Union engaged Atlanta-based Level 5 to develop a retail delivery strategy that best positions it to serve existing and potential members in the Atlanta area. login to post comments |
