Hannah Dudley, Alec Hawthorne, Omoye Osehobo and Jenna Fair are the four eighth grade members of the Symphonic Band at Whitewater Middle School who earned a place in the All-State Band in Savannah. The students are under the direction of Bill Melton. Holding a position in the Symphonic Band is the highest level of achievement a Whitewater Middle band student can attain. These students went through a rigorous audition process to have the honor of playing in the All-State Band, which is comprised of students from all over the state. The All-State Band met in Savannah Feb. 23-25 for three days of rehearsals which culminated in the final concert given at the Lucas Theater in downtown Savannah on Saturday afternoon. Dudley and Fair both play the flute while Hawthorne plays the bassoon and Osehobo plays the trombone. login to post comments |
