The Line Creek Civitan Club recently hosted the chartering of the Sandy Creek High School Junior Civitan Club at the W.K. Café in Peachtree City. Julia Ivey, President of the Line Creek Civitan Club, congratulated Sandy Creek High School and Mandy Burnett, the faculty adviser, for their assistance and hard work in providing availability of a civic club at Sandy Creek High School. The club gives the students an opportunity to demonstrate good citizenship by supporting local charities and programs dedicated to children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Faye Evans, the Civitan Georgia District Governor, led the chartering ceremony and said, “This club demonstrates the success from cooperation by the Fayette County Civitan Club in Fayetteville and the Line Creek Civitan Club in Peachtree City.”

The Fayette County Civitans, working with the Sandy Creek Junior Civitans, have already provided financial support for the purchase and installation of an automatic door that will greatly assist physically challenged students at the school.

Civitan is an international association of local community service clubs, each one meeting specific needs in their communities.
