The Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) has released a new episode of The Shape of Things to Come – a quarterly, half-hour television show produced by ARC that examines issues, challenges and opportunities facing the Atlanta region.

This episode, Living Longer, Living Better, looks at the aging of the baby boomers and other issues we face as the metro Atlanta population grows older. Living Longer, Living Better also examines the many varying aspects of retirement, from finances to housing to health.
Included in this episode is a special segment about Medicare Part “D” – the new prescription drug benefit for older adults and disabled persons.

Hosted by Susan Hoffman of GPTV’s “Georgia Week in Review,” The public affairs show also features commentary and interviews with a number of health experts and community leaders who provide insight on the aging issues that are unique to the region.

Living Better, Living Longer is being aired this month across the Atlanta region on all local government access cable channels and Comcast Community Television. The show can be viewed on the ARC’s Web site at www.atlantaregional.com.
Topics for future episodes of The Shape of Things to Come include: livable communities, traffic mobility, quality growth, greenspace, water quality and cultural diversity. Each installment will focus on the challenges and successes of counties, cities and communities throughout the metro Atlanta region, and how quality planning and preparation will keep metro Atlanta on the course of success.
