The Starr’s Mill High School golf team has kicked off their season by winning their first five matches.

The Panthers have defeated Newnan, Fayette County, Northgate, McIntosh and Sandy Creek on their way to establishing themselves as one of the leaders in their region.

“This is the best start we have had in nine years at Starr’s Mill,” said Coach Chad Phillips. “We are very excited about the potential of this team.”

The average nine hole scores for the players to date are: senior Ben Creighton, 38; junior Connor MacBean, 38; senior Wade Holland, 39; senior Bo Tiller, 40; sophomore Adam Baakalini, 40; senior GB Casablanca, 40; freshman Tyler Smith, 41; junior KG Bragg, 42; senior Brian Howard, 43; junior Keith Nickles, 43; senior Daniel Cobb, 44 and junior Chris Profetta, 45.

The team has set a goal of returning to the Class AAAAA Championship in May. They finished fifth in the state last year.
