Getting the job done: Throughout my campaign I have stated that I would protect the values of our great county’s heritage that I have lived in for the past 30 years. These priorities, which make up my platform, have not changed. Non-district voting: I, Robert Horgan, believe that the current method of countywide voting for our County Commission is fair for all voters, and is in the best interests of the county. I feel that every taxpayer should have an equal vote on how their tax dollars are spent countywide. Public safety: I, Robert Horgan, will offer unwavering support to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department, and EMS units so that they can protect and serve our entire county effectively. Quality growth: I, Robert Horgan, will work to maintain the quality growth plan which, has helped keep our millage rates from increasing, our schools from overcrowding, and preserve our green space for future generations. Quality of life: I, Robert Horgan, will encourage development of a countywide senior center, an aquatics center, and a fine arts center. Adding facilities to our county’s base will attract new families and businesses, which considering Fayette County home. Stewardship: I, Robert Horgan, will manage your tax dollars carefully, and work to prevent frivolous lawsuits. I hope to help bring all city and county governments together, so we can more efficiently operate with each to save us all time and money. We should strive to go from good to great. I, Robert Horgan, know that I will only be as good as the people working for me. I will encourage incentives though our counties commission that will grant employees an ability to play a bigger role in our own county’s government and encourage staff to act on the problem so that our citizens’ services are not interrupted. Choosing service above self, which comes from my Rotary Club four-way test, may answer any questions about how I would lead. 1. Is it the truth? 2. Is if fair to all concerned? 3. Will it build goodwill and better friendships? 4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned? The hardest job of a candidate running in a special election is getting the voters out. Second, is getting them to vote for you. Please go vote March 21st. login to post comments |
